I’m over at the Kill Zone Blog today, where I’ve posted a critique of  an anonymous author’s opening to a novel called The Last White Rose. I was shy about writing the critique because I don’t often do personal critiques, except for friends and the occasional student. But I had a lot of fun doing this one. I tried to keep the tone light because we all need not to take ourselves and our writing too seriously. Novels are entertainment, not matters of life and death (though there have been books that I felt saved my life).
While you’re visiting today, could I ask a huge favor?
If you’ve read my Edgar-nominated short story, A Paler Shade of Death, would you take a few moments to leave a review at Amazon? Lots of folks have bought it, but I just saw that there are no reviews! Please and thank you, thank you. 💜
Off to work on my black cat detective book…Have a terrific day!

Exercise: Does spending 30 minutes trying to get the sprinkler in the right place count?
Lovely, dewy rose; would love to read your short story ( you should compile your short works), and about your work out routine, Laura: hmmmmm depends on the amount of struggle/resistance you met with the sprinkler. :))
I wish there were a couple of extra Lauras, Skye, who could do things like put together story collections. 😉
