We had two big storms last week, and I rushed outside after each with my camera and took a hundred photos. I’d love to put them all up at once, but I think I’ll spread them out over a few weeks. The second was an ice storm–very dramatic. The first was all rain, with 30 mph winds that knocked over our basketball goal and uprooted a small tree. There were limbs down in town, as well. We saw county crews chainsawing several by the side of the road.
There are four furbabies in our house: Hrothgar, Scout, Sylvie, and Miss Nina Garcia (the girls are cats). The girls are not allowed outside, though both came to us via our country road frontage at different times. Sylvie, who is two, rather thinks she’s a dog and hurries to the door to wait while the boys go outside. But she never tries to go out herself. Miss Nina is more intrepid, and will stand at the door and meow. Sometimes when we take the dogs out, she hides behind the curtain (she’s not really all that good at hiding), and dashes out before we can get the door closed. Then she leaps out into the yard and…stands there. After a moment she’ll go and chew on some grass, which we always see again later in the day. Often near a shoe, but thankfully not in it. She’s not hard to catch when she’s outside, but she doesn’t pose long for photos, so the ones I have of her are always a bit blurry.
