Another Frabjous Day: A Thriller Award Nomination!

2017 is shaping up to be nothing short of amazing!

On Wednesday I learned that my short story, The Peter Rabbit Killers, has been nominated for an ITW Best Short Story Award. I confess I’m finding it very hard to wrap my mind around. I wrote it for Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine last year. EQMM is one of my very favorite places to publish and, in fact, published my very first mystery story way back in 2001!

I first joined the International Thriller Writers way back in 2007, when my debut, Isabella Moon, came out with Ballantine Books. How fun it is to ponder going back to Thrillerfest in July, ten years later, as a nominee.

As in the Edgar Awards (for which I have a story nominated this year, as well), the stories are judged by peer members of the organization. I’ve been a judge in the past, and I know what a challenge it is to comb through the entries and evaluate them. So I feel very, very blessed to have both nominations.

What shall I do now? I’ll get back to editing this novel manuscript, then move on to writing more stories and novels. Because that’s what it’s all about. But I wanted to share this news with you.

Thank you ever so much for reading! 💜
