Did you know that today is the International Day of Peace, courtesy of the United Nations? What a lovely thought. I’m fairly neutral on the subject of the U.N., but I’m thinking that their press agents aren’t working very hard if I’ve only come across one reference to it today.
I’m blessed here in Southern Illinois because I don’t have to fight to defend my little acreage from those who would take it for themselves to give to their cronies, secure a village with guns and grenades, sell my personal belongings for food or travel miles to get clean water or bribe someone to get through a checkpoint so I can take the kids to school without getting blown up. I got to sit on my porch today and read poetry.
Here’s a photo of the view from my porch:
Are you living in peace? Safety? I hope so.
