It’s been a long week. Here are some easy-on-the-brain links 🙃:
Have you seen the photos of the ginormous sea creature that washed up in Indonesia? This is wild.
Big dinosaur news: A nodosaur has been unearthed in all its spiky glory. Amazing.
OSCAR DE LA RENTA stamps! They are fabulous.
When will there be a decent King Arthur film? I don’t think I’ll bother with this one. Too bad.
I totally have a thing for birds. And I love that birds (male birds, anyway) are very selective about their neighbors. (Also, this “study finds” site is kind of cool.)
Books and Such 📚
All the ways we’re wrong about Jane Austen. Fascinating. (H/T to the always-fun Modern Mrs. Darcy.)
Colonel Sanders of KFC fame is the star of a romance novella. I kind of want to read it, but it also freaks me out. (When I was in middle school, some friends showed me the house where Colonel Sanders’ chef lived. Talk about a tough job. Or maybe not?)
My dear friend, Carolyn Haines, has a new book out this week. Sarah Booth Delaney is her delightful mystery series character. Check out Sticks and Bones.
**Don’t forget that you can get my ultimate anti-Mother’s Day short stories, A Paler Shade of Death (from St. Louis Noir) and The Hollow Woman (from Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine) for a cool .99 for the next 2 days.
Wedding bells 👰🏻
I mentioned last week that my daughter is getting married next spring. So I think I definitely have to add links to wedding paraphernalia on Saturday, yes?
Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I can perhaps only see these on a beach? On a very young bride?
And while these photos are darling, and the wedding will be in the country, my daughter and I have agreed on a strict no milk crates policy.
Though, when Husband and I got married on the farm, it was a working dairy farm. This would’ve been oddly appropriate.
