Every Saturday, Rain or Shine

Serendipity makes a life worth living.

Bits and Bobs

How vulnerable are we to manipulation by online sites and social media? Many who created the sites are unplugging.

Nordstrom, one of my favorite departments stores, is changing.

The amazing ‘Tunnel Man’ of Alaska who made Mars research easier–and drives reindeer.

Slenderman isn’t actually funny.

Have you ever been to a mystery convention? Where I’ll be next week. It’s a great place to meet your favorite authors. Bouchercon.

Books, etc

It’s the spooky month! One of my favorite websites for all that’s criminal and creepy: The Lineup

Grandma give a 6 year-old an adult picture book without checking it out first. So funny.

Reminds me of the time I bought my 11 year-old Yiddish with Dick and Jane without reading it first!

Don’t forget Familiar Trouble, the first book in the Trouble the black cat detective series, is still free on Kindle.

Yes, my SMALL TOWN TROUBLE cover reveal is my favorite post this week.

You always give the most interesting web sites to visit. Thank you…I love them all.

Yay! I’m glad you find them interesting, Sally. I try to save them over the week or spend some fun time finding stuff that interests me that might interest you!

Weird about Nordstrom. I’m not sure their new format is the answer to their monetary problems, but I wish them luck.

Me, too. It’s interesting that they’re starting in Beverly Hills. Somehow I don’t see this happening in St. Louis, where our nearest Nordstrom is. I really do miss the days of excellent dept store service. Our Macy’s is pathetic. I bought some panties today, and traipsed around the store for five minutes trying to find someone to ring me up. Finally had to go to housewares!

I live relatively close to a Nordstrom, but they don’t carry EVERYTHING, and as far as Macy’s is concerned, they just closed down the nearest one to me.

I’m prepared for ours to close any time now. Which means we’ll have to drive 40 minutes to Dillard’s. The goods there are better but the drive is a hassle. Ah, country life.

Laura, enjoy the Boucheron! It looks great, and Nordstrom is my favorite store, too. especially for cosmetics. Some of the web sites included today are great—love The Line Up and books.

I’m fascinated to see what happens with Nordstrom. It’s cool that they’re trying something new. Crazy for their shoes–when they’re on sale, anyway!

They are very pricey, especially for shoes and hand bags ( both passions of mine); I am currently watching a lovely pair of suede, camel colored ankle boots ( they’re on sale).
