As a “damned Yankee,” that is, a newly-arrived Northerner in Alabama who has the audacity to plan to stay, I was given a few of Anne George’s mystery novels. I remember them as playful, dear, quick reads that steeped me in popular southern culture. I think I will see if I can dig them out to reread until I win the stash of Benedict books! ๐
Her novels sound charming, Kate. She was also an Alabama State Poet and a Pulitzer nominee. A fascinating combination. So glad you came by. See you Sunday!
Thatโs the quote I based What lIes Behind on!
It’s a GREAT title, and a wonderful book, too! ๐
